I couldn’t think of a better day to do a post honoring my husband, than on his very first Father’s Day. (He’s experienced paw-thers day, but this is more the real deal 😉 )
One of the first things I noticed right after Shiloh was born was not about childbirth, or being a mother, or babies, but how much overwhelming love I felt for my husband. I obviously knew I loved him so much before we had a baby, but the feeling once Shiloh arrived was just inexplainable. Mamas, I’m sure you know what I mean! 🙂 He is an incredible & hands-on dad, and really puts his whole heart into all he does with/for Shiloh. (And me, and Jakson too!) I really admire how he can work full-time, and sometimes long days, but when I ask for his help with anything, he does whatever it is without complaint.
We went over to my in-laws’ the other day to clear out some of Christian’s childhood things, and came across his baby book. As I was flipping through it, I noticed a little note that his mom wrote. It read ” ‘Hopes for our child:’ that you would stay close to the Lord and seek Him all the days of your life, and that you would be all that He created you to be.” I got tears in my eyes when I read that because it is so spot on to exactly the man Christian grew up to be. He truly does seek the Lord in every aspect of his life, and continues to be obedient to all of the calls that God places on his heart. He has been a constant encouragement to me in this area, and I really am so proud to be his wife!
We have a fun day planned today, and I’m so excited to make Christian’s first Father’s Day so special! We’re gonna let him play as much PlayStation as he wants today so I’m sure he’ll enjoy that 😉 and be embarrassed that I shared that information hahah.
Happy Father’s Day to my very best friend, I love you!!
