My swim top: SwimZip c/o // My bottoms: Tavik // My sunnies: Urban Outfitters // Shiloh’s swimsuit: SwimZip c/o

Today’s post is something a little bit different, and a whole lot special! Special because 1. I got to spend a beautiful day with Christian & Shiloh at the beach shooting these pics (it was Shiloh’s 1st time at the beach and she LOVED it!), and 2. because I’ve teamed up with SwimZip to share more about Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and how #SwimZipSavesYourSkin.

SwimZip carries UPF 50+ swimwear & clothing for adults, children, and babies. Funnily enough, Christian and I had seen SwimZip founder, Betsy, on Shark Tank literally 2 days before she reached out to share more about her amazing brand with me! As a new mother, and daughter of a 2-time cancer survivor, I am very careful about protecting both mine & my family’s bodies from the inside out (ie. sun protection, healthy eating, natural remedies, etc). I was so impressed & excited about this incredible concept, and couldn’t wait to help spread the word about it!

Did you know that skin cancer is actually the leading type of cancer in the US?? I was shocked to learn this, and immediately started to think of what more I could be doing to protect myself & my family. Sunscreen is probably the first thing that comes to mind. I’m a little funny when it comes to anything I put on/in my body, and have noticed that so many sunscreens are filled with weird chemicals & ingredients, which makes me hesitate to use them. Especially on my baby! Sun protection does not have to be that way! Sun-protective clothing is somewhat of a new concept, but a much more attractive option in my eyes! It doesn’t contain any harmful ingredients, and it’s honestly super cute! 😉

Here are some other natural ways we can protect our skin;

  1. Floppy brimmed hats
  2. UV Protective Sunglasses
  3. NATURAL sunscreens such as; Badger Balm, Badger Balm for Babies, DeVita, Suntegrity
  4. Sit in the shade or under an umbrella
  5. Stay hydrated!!

What are some of your favorite ways to protect your skin?? Let me know in the comments, I’m always looking for new, natural ways! xoxox

**Big thank you to SwimZip for sending Shiloh & I these cute pieces!**
