I can’t believe a whole year has already gone by since our wedding day. And all that’s happened over that year – a new job for Christian, new home, and new baby (almost!). So crazy to think about how much has developed during such a short time. Our wedding was more perfect than I ever imagined, and I’m so excited to finally be sharing it with all of you today!

The theme of our day was Modern Botanical. Going along with that theme, I knew I wanted lots of greenery, as well as metallics like mirrored surfaces & mercury, while still tying in the seasonal fall tones. I was SO impressed with the designs our florist came up with!! I think my favorite part was my cascading bouquet.

Another favorite detail was our custom invitations. I’m sure you can guess why (cough cough..Jakson..) hehe. I just love our little custom characters & that baby Jakson is with us. You knew I’d find a way to involve him somehow 😉 Funny thing though, my dress is long sleeved in the illustration, as I had originally decided on a long sleeved dress, but being that it was so hot out that day, I’m glad I changed my mind!

Speaking of that heat…Our “fall” wedding ended up being over 100° during the ceremony! We literally all had sweat dripping from everywhere. I seriously felt SO bad for the guys in their layers of suits! Thankfully, our ceremony began around 4pm, so by the time the reception rolled around, the sun was going down and it was much much cooler.

Christian & I did see each other before the ceremony. It was so important to me that we have just a few minutes in private together before all the craziness and fun began. And I’m SO glad we did! I was beginning to feel very overwhelmed once we got to the venue. There were so many different people coming up to me and asking questions, or dragging me here & there, that I really just needed Christian to help me get my calm back. During those few minutes we prayed and talked about our exciting day/life ahead. It’s a time I will always remember. It really set the tone for the rest of the day/night, and we were both able to enjoy every minute after!

We never practiced our dance or any sort of dance ‘moves’ for that matter. We both felt SO awkward during our first dance! We barely moved our feet and it felt like the song lasted forever. I can’t imagine what the people watching were thinking haha. We got through it by talking about Jakson (duh) and laughing at what terrible dancers we are. It was definitely a funny memory together.

This was the most fun, love-filled day of our lives, and I thank you so much for being interested & reading all about it! I am so happy to have finally gotten this blog post up, and hope you enjoyed reliving our special day as much as I did 🙂
